Gods Thunder
watercolor and acrylic paints, ink, and collage elements
original size 22” x 30” on Arches 300# cold press paper

Phillip La Borie

“Gods Thunder” is the first work in a series, entitled Discover America. This piece was inspired by the
incredible thunderstorms that roll over the Great Salt Marsh in Myrtle Beach, SC, especially during
spring and summer. Everyone and everything takes cover when towering thunderheads appear.

Phillip La Borie is an artist and writer in Garden City, SC. More of his
work may be seen in previous issues of The Permanente Journal.
