Kate Scannell, MD, FACP

Kate Scannell, MD, FACP, is an Internist, Geriatrician, and Rheumatologist. She is the Director of the Department of Medical Ethics for The Permanente Medical Group in Northern California, and Editor of its two newsletters: Ethics Rounds and Just a Minute Ethics. She writes a syndicated opinion column for several Bay Area newspapers, and she is the author of the novel Flood Stage and the memoir Death of the Good Doctor—Lessons from the Heart of the AIDS Epidemic.
