MicroWorld Butterflies
mixed media collage
Shenshen Dou, MS

This piece is part of the artist’s larger MicroWorld collage series, which is inspired by her research experiences as a molecular biologist.

An assemblage of bioform images was applied in this collage, as trees and as butterflies (chromosomes).  Butterflies are the result of metamorphosis, and also a symbol of transformation of life.

Ms Dou is an artist living in West Linn, OR.
