A Benedictine monastery was first established here in 966 CE. During the following centuries, it has undergone many additions and restorations. It even served as a prison during the French Revolution. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dr Gaskill is a retired Otolaryngologist from the Santa Clara Medical Center in CA.
